Give Up the Suffering of Exercise and Get Fit…Effortlessly
If you’re tired of painful, boring, repetitive or mindless exercise classes, then join us for the holistic, pleasure-based fitness program called the Nia Technique.
Feeling fit and fabulous inside and out
Nia lets you move beyond the "buns of steel" or "washboard abs" experience of fitness. In the 21st century, getting fit means getting into great shape mentally, emotionally, spiritually as well as physically.
The Nia fitness program supports you in creating a healthier, more meaningful life by providing the space and time to connect to your body, your mind, your spirit and your emotions.
Get inspired
Nia is the "all gain, no pain" body-mind-spirit-emotion fitness and lifestyle program that combines movements and concepts from the martial arts (Tai Chi, Tae Kwan Do, Aikido), dance (Jazz, Modern and Duncan), and the body integration therapies (Yoga, the Feldenkrais Method ® , the Alexander Technique).
After a Nia class you’ll feel connected, whole, grounded and relaxed. Integrated into Nia, each movement form contributes its own set of benefits to your body and your overall sense of wellbeing:
Tai Chi: the slow dance
Tai Chi offers soft, relaxed movement.Tae Kwon Do: the dance of precision

The Feldenkrais Method™ offers the art of sensory awareness. The Alexander Technique: organized movement from the top
The Alexander Technique teaches you to change patterned physical responses by focusing primarily on the movement and placement of the head.
Movements that feel good… great music that inspires them
The music in a Nia class is anything but typical group exercise class music…Gregorian chant, folk, rap, hip hop, rhythm and blues, jazz, world beat, pop, rock, electronic, even silence.
Get connected to yourself
Nia nurtures your personal growth because it allows you to be in touch with yourself in ways you may have forgotten.
A Nia class includes both structured and unstructured movement called Freedance. During Freedance your Nia teacher will invite you to break your movement habits by using awareness, sensation, intuition and organic movement. You’re encouraged to take risks, move your way, and find joy and pleasure in your movement. Your Nia experiences support your own individual path towards health and wellness.
Nia instructors are trained to use positive, non-judgmental language. A typical Nia class isn’t a bootcamp experience. You teacher will guide you in moving and developing in your way, at your own pace. Students are invited to personalize each workout by choosing a variety of levels and planes of movement to suit their individual abilities and goals.
Many Nia students report greater self-esteem, a more tranquil spirit, and heightened self-awareness after taking a few Nia classes.
Get connected to others
Nia teachers create a no-pressure, playful, non-competitive class environment. You'll sense the community spirit the minute you walk in. A Nia class is a place to heal, to find joy, to grow and to celebrate your uniqueness as well as your connection to other people. A Nia class is a place where everyone knows your name.
The Nia experience is waiting for you
Become flexible, agile, grounded and strong. Move through life with greater awareness, ease and comfort regardless of your age or fitness level.
